Funatics
Funatics Software is one of Germany’s most experienced and renowned game development studios. The excellent reputation of the studio (founded in 1998) is based on the team’s enormous experience which results in a highly efficient and quality-oriented development of top titles.
The first title published under the Funatics label was a board-game conversion of the table-top classic "Settlers of Catan". It was published in 1999 under the name Catan – First Island by Ravensburger Interactive. The game to this day has a reputation as one of the best board-game conversions of all time; over 200.000 copies were sold in Germany alone.With over 300.000 copies sold world-wide, the Cultures series is the most successful product line in our company’s history. The first part was released in September 2000; while 2003 saw the release of "Cultures – The Saga", the seventh instalment in the empire-building strategy game series.
Zanzarah – The Hidden Portal (published in April 2002 by THQ Inc.) is an adventure/action game developed by Funatics. It received excellent reviews and several awards both nationally and internationally, and achieved a score of 90% or more in numerous reviews.
The strategy game "The Settlers: Heritage of Kings", developed in close cooperation with Ubisoft and Blue Byte, sold over 200.000 copies in Germany alone within a few weeks, and has already found over ½ million customers world-wide.
The most current releases are the empire-building classic "The Settlers II – 10th Anniversary" and the real time strategy hit "ParaWorld" (September 2006).
